Originally from NY, Michelle has been a Richmond resident for 6 years. As this is her first year working with the Board of Directors for Gay Pride Virginia, Michelle is committed to serving and strengthening the LGBT community. Michelle is a recent VCU graduate, currently working on getting her interpreting license for American Sign Language. In her free time, Michelle enjoys going to concerts, reading, boating, and spending time with her girlfriend, Claudia Ellis.

Michael Maszaros – Co-Chairman

Born and raised in the far west end of Richmond, Mike has always been active in the LGBT community. As a UVA graduate and member of the board of directors of the Serpentine Society (the LGBT alumni network of UVA), Mike brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to VA Pride through his extensive background with various queer organizations.

Since joining VA Pride in 2003, Mike has been instrumental in helping the organization grow into a stable, visible cornerstone of Richmond’s LGBT community. Previously, Mike has served both as a board member and as the Secretary for the organization. Currently in his role as Co-Chair, Michael’s goal is to help the organization mature and grow as a community partner.

When not busy with VA Pride duties, interior design, dancing, and socializing with friends are among Michael’s favorite activities. Michael and his partner Scott split their time between their two homes in Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC. Together, they are patrons of the arts communities in both Richmond and Charlotte, and are avid travelers.

Amy moved to Richmond in 1999 from Colorado and has devoted much of her time to supporting our community by partnering with various local and national organizations.  She spent several years in charge of memberships and events for the Capital One LGBT Network, serves on the Supplier Diversity Council mentoring minority-owned small business owners, and enjoyed several years as an active Board member for Richmond Community Corps.  She also began her own non-profit called Everyday Heroes several years ago whose mission is to raise money for the non-profit community.  Amy is very honored to bring her experiences, energy and perspective to the Board of Virginia Pride.  She enjoys socializing with friends, taking off on spontaneous road trips, and passing the day with her small retriever, Milo.
