Pull out all that purple!!
On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools. RIP Tyler Clementi, Asher Brown, Seth Walsh, Justin Aaberg, Raymond Chase and Billy Lucas. You are loved.
Join this event and invite everyone on your friends list. Don’t let their deaths be for nothing. Let it mean something, and let’s do something to change this country for once.

Candlelight Vigil for LGBT Suicides
Monday, October 4 · 10:00pm – 10:30pm @ The Compass on VCU Main Campus
Let’s all come out in support of our friends, family, and others who have been harassed for being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, etc…
There have been 6 suicides related to LGBT harassment in the past 3 weeks. We as a community NEED to do something about this. Homophobia is a real threat in America. Right now people need support and love. Let’s come together as a campus in support of those who fight and in reverence of those who have died.
Invite your friends, family, anyone to this event. Together we can help to end homophobia.

VA Pride Presents “Just Say Love”
“Just Say Love”
Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 4:00 and Monday, September 20, 2010 at 7:30
@ Richmond Triangle Players Theatre
As part of VA Pride’s September takeover culminating in our annual PrideFest, we would like to present two special screenings of “Just Say Love”. Come out and celebrate Pride month in the commonwealth with us!
Physical attractions appear to be the obvious explanation for two people to become a pair. But are they really the reflection of something sublime, everlasting or dare we say, spiritual? Do relationships start in the bedroom or in the heart? In this male love story, the bliss described by Joseph Campbell and sages throughout the millennia is a practical option for finding happiness. As the camera delves into the character’s minds and actions we find fulfillment on both a physical and spiritual level. Stagewright Films will bring you closer to the story through a magical combination of stage and film.
$5 per person (which will benefit VaPride and Richmond Triangle Players)

About 2BNB
To The Bottom And Back (2BNB) normally operates buses on a continuous loop throughout the major arteries in the city from 6pm to 3am, Thursday-Saturday. 2BNB bridges the gap between the Fan district and the East End/Downtown, an area approximately 5 miles long, and aims to fill the void that existing public transportation creates. They will stop anywhere along the route for a pick up or drop off.
- Reduce the quantity of drinking and driving incidents and create safer streets for pedestrians and motorists alike and create awareness through education to the dangers of drinking and driving.
- Provide free transportation relief of the poor, the distressed or underprivileged in conjunction with other charitable organizations.
- Through transportation, encourage a more eco-friendly way to move about Richmond and other cities.
- Provide a transportation catalyst for the people to enjoy the sights, culture and entertainment Richmond, or other cities, has to offer.
Donate
Shuttle transportation on the PrideBus is provided completely free of charge through generous support of 2BNB, club owners, and GayRVA to reduce drunk driving the night of PrideFest. 2bNB accepts tips on the bus to support its mission. You can also pledge by clicking here.
